2.0       LICENCES ISSUED UNDER DELEGATED POWERS

There had been circulated copies of the Civic Government and Miscellaneous Licences issued under delegated powers between 10 December 2019 and 5 February 2020.

 

DECISION 

NOTED.

Items Likely to be Taken in Private

Before proceeding with the private business, the following motion should be approved:

 

“That under Section 50A(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 the public be exclude from the meeting for the following item of business on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraph 14 of Part 1 of Schedule 7A to the aforementioned Act.”

               DECISION

AGREED under Section 50A(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 to exclude the public from the meeting during consideration of the business detailed in the Appendix to this Minute on the grounds that they involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraph 14  of part 1 of Schedule 7A to the Act.

4.0       LICENSING OF TAXIS, PRIVATE HIRE VEHICLES AND DRIVERS

            Hearing to consider request for revocation of Taxi Driver Licence

With reference to paragraph 4 of the Minute of 20 December 2019, there had been circulated copies of a letter from Police Scotland dated 28 November 2019, requesting the revocation of a Taxi Driver Licence in terms of paragraph 11(2)(a) of Schedule 1 of the Civic Government (Scotland) Act 1982.  Also circulated were statements from the Taxi Driver concerned and witnesses.  The applicant was present at the meeting and represented by his legal agent.  After hearing both parties the Committee agreed the revocation of the Taxi Driver Licence which would come into effect at the end of the Appeal period or in the event of an appeal upon the appeal either being abandoned or determined in favour of the revocation in terms of paragraph 11(9) and (10) of Schedule 1 of the Civic Government (Scotland) Act 1982..
