There had been circulated copies of an application for the grant of a provisional premises license together with the proposed Operating Plan, Layout Plan and customer survey report. Mr Michael Wynne, Licensing Standards and Enforcement Officer advised that the premises, which consisted of a garage and shop, had changed ownership 12 months previously and the shop on site had been refurbished and the applicant wished to include the sale of alcohol. The application was within policy and no objections had been received. Police Scotland had no comments. The convener welcomed Mr Emslie, the applicants representative, who joined the meeting via Microsoft Teams. Mr Emslie explained that in recent months there had been a move towards localized shopping and his client wished to offer a modest range of alcoholic goods to customers. The applicant who owned other licensed premises within Hawick had a good track record of running successful businesses. DECISION GRANTED. |
