Minutes:

There had been circulated copies of the Minute of the Meeting of 4 March 2021.

 

DECISION

NOTED for signature by the Chairman.

 

2.

Urgent Business

Minutes:

Under Section 50B(4)(b) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973, the Chairman was of the opinion that the item dealt with in the following paragraph should be considered at the meeting as a matter of urgency, in view of the need to make an early decision.

 

3.

Chairman/Vice-Chairman

Minutes:

Councillor Aitchison advised that, that in accordance with the Pension Board Constitution, the June meeting was when the post of Chairman was passed over and proposed that Mr D. Bell, Vice-Chairman be appointed.  This was unanimously accepted.  Councillor Aitchison reverted to the position of Vice-Chairman.

 

            DECISION

            AGREED that Mr. D. Bell be appointed as Chairman with immediate effect to serve until June 2022 and that Councillor Aitchison revert of the position of Vice-Chairman.

 

4.

Joint Meeting of Pension Fund Committee and Pension Board

Consideration of any issues required to be raised.

 

Minutes:

The Chairman invited those present to raise any matters which had been discussed at the earlier joint meeting.  In response to a question on the role of Board Members, Ms Robb advised that they were there to scrutinise the work of the Pension Fund Committee and to challenge any decisions made.  They also had the power to call in any decisions if they wished.  Councillor Aitchison queried the reason why the investment decision taken by the Sub-Committee had been changed and was advised that Members had given the matter more detailed consideration following the decision being taken.

 

DECISION

AGREED that there were no issues to raise.

 

5.

Date of Next Meeting

The next meeting is scheduled to be held on 16 September 2021.

The date of the next meeting of the Pension Board would be 16 September 2021.
