The Chairman, Councillor Cook, welcomed Mr David Girdler, recently appointed Chief Officer Roads, to his first meeting of the Sub-Committee.  Mr Girdler advised that he was a Civil Engineer and had managed road networks in New Zealand and Australia.  He had been employed with Scottish Borders Council for three months and was looking forward to the challenges ahead.

There had been circulated copies of the Minute of 31 October 2016. 

DECISION

APPROVED.

AGREED under Section 50A(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 to exclude the public from the meeting during consideration of the business detailed in the Appendix to this Minute on the grounds that they involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraph 8 of part 1 of Schedule 7A to the Act.

The Sub-Committee approved the private section of the Minute of 31 October 2016.

The Sub-Committee considered the private report by the Chief Officer Roads for the period to 31 December 2016.

The next meeting of the Trading Operations Sub-Committee was scheduled to take place on 12 June 2017.
